Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Our team in Manukau are looking for a Heavy Diesel Mechanic who's trade-qualified with significant relevant experience to assess, repair and maintain our equipment in our busy Regional Workshop.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the workshop team, ensuring maximum fleet up time through preventative maintenance and repair. The role involves working closely with other members of the team ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to and objectives are met.

What you'll do:

  • Repair and maintain a wide variety of Earthmoving and Construction Equipment
  • Identify and order parts as required
  • Actively promote Health and Safety within the workshop and wider business
  • Assist with training apprentices and increasing knowledge within the business
  • Maintain accurate records of work done, consumables used, etc.

What you will need:

  • A mechanical trade Qualification in Heavy automotive plant and equipment or equivalent qualification is required
  • Strong product knowledge in the earthmoving/construction sectors
  • Full class 1 Driver Licence (other classes and Endorsements advantageous)
  • A can-do attitude and a drive to learn/grow your career
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information
