We're looking for a driven and motivated Sales Representative to join our Auckland team for a new role focused on finding and winning new customers across Auckland for our specialist Portables division.

You don't need to know the hire industry or our product range as we'll train you on our products, systems and industry. What we're looking for is someone who is keen to learn, comfortable talking to people and motivated to win new business.

You'll spend a large part of your week out in the market — visiting construction sites, infrastructure projects and businesses, finding the right contacts and introducing them to Hirepool.

You'll help construction sites, events and infrastructure projects get the right gear on time, including portaloos, luxury units, fencing, barriers and road plates.

You'll own a territory, build your own plan, learn the products quickly, and see the impact of your work on real projects.

If you're someone who would rather be out meeting customers, visiting sites and chasing opportunities than sitting behind a desk, this could be the role for you.

What you'll do:

• Build and look after relationships with new and existing customers so Hirepool is the first call
• Create an annual sales plan and organise your week around the targets in it
• Understand what each customer is trying to achieve and match the right equipment and service
• Work with the region's Portables Manager and Business Development Manager to lift utilisation and margin
• Represent Hirepool at industry and customer events when needed

What we're looking for:

• Previous sales experience
• Strong desire to learn, achieve results and win new business
• Confident speaking with new people and building relationships (i.e. making cold calls and approaching new businesses)
• A positive and proactive attitude
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication
• Good organisation and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your own week
• A full NZ Driver Licence
