Parts Procurement Specialist

Christchurch City, New Zealand

Based primarily at our Southern Workshop office in Christchurch and from time to time throughout our branch network. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role supports workshop operations with efficient, timely and cost-effective procurement, and administration of spare parts.

Ideally, you're a person with either a qualification in procurement or logistics (with the competency and interest to develop your mechanical knowledge) or you come from a trade background (with either a relevant qualification or significant work experience with automotive parts/mechanical accessories).

This role will work closely with our central procurement team ensuring that parts are sourced in a manner which delivers the best result for the Region while still adhering to national PSA's and Hirepool's internal policies and standards.

Key tasks:

  • Identify spare parts in an accurate and timely manner
  • Generate purchase orders and ensure these are maintained and receipted
  • Proactively manage stock and work with the Workshop Supervisor to maintain stocking levels and keep up to date with evolving fleet
  • Complete all warehousing tasks and support the inventory stocktake process
  • Evaluate and consider new spare parts request from the workshop team

What else you need:

  • High levels of attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Experience in a spare parts, warehousing, or logistics environment
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer systems and software
  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence
  • Ideally an F Endorsement (but we can help you obtain this)
