  • Free staff hire in our DIY fleet & 4% Employer Kiwisaver contribution (up to 6% based on length of service)

We have an opportunity in our Canterbury Events team for a Marquee Operations Supervisor. This is a hands-on leadership role working closely with the Branch Manager to ensure our events are well planned, clearly communicated and executed to a high standard.

The role is physically demanding and you're constantly on the go but there is also much to be learned and you'll have a great team to support you. You'll be out on site, leading from the front and taking ownership of operations. This is a position you can truly make your own, with the opportunity to shape how the team performs and delivers on site. Experienced riggers would be ideal but we also want to hear from people who have worked in Events or Construction, love the outdoors, are team orientated, and are keen to develop their existing skills.

Some of the responsibilities of this role include:

  • Effectively overseeing the work of other Marquee Riggers and temporary labour on site
  • Work alongside Hires Store Team Leader to ensure all hire equipment is stored and maintained to a high standard and delivered and returned with due care and attention
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with any regulatory requirements
  • Taking ownership of planning and execution on site—solving problems and keeping things moving

Other requirements & skills needed:

  • Full Class 2 Driver Licence is essential (Class 4 and F endorsement are desirable)
  • Availability for regular out-of-town work and occasional weekend work depending on event schedules
  • High level of technical proficiency in erecting marquees
  • Willingness to take ownership and be held accountable - excellent organisational skills
  • Able to work with a diverse array of people and build successful working relationships

Who we are:

We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including enhanced employer Kiwisaver contributions, flexible working, and company-funded life insurance.
