We're looking for a an experienced, trade-qualified small engine mechanic to join our busy Auckland Support Workshop as a Leading Hand. This is a great opportunity if you're looking for the next step in your career or just looking for a new opportunity where you have the chance to further develop your existing skills and experience.

You will have your own repair and maintenance work as well as supporting the Workshop Supervisor in the daily operations of the Small Engine Equipment Bay, setting workloads and offering administrative and technical support to your team.

What you'll do:

  • Repair and maintain a wide variety of Small Engine Equipment
  • Delegate duties to our Small Engine Mechanics, planning and organising their workload ensuring maximum fleet up time is achieved
  • Identify and order parts as required
  • Work with the Workshop Supervisor and Workshop Administrator to ensure work order information is accurate and up to date
  • Assist with training apprentices and increasing knowledge within the business

What you need:

  • A level 4 mechanical trade qualification
  • Full class 1 Driver Licence
  • A can-do attitude and a drive to learn/grow your career
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information
  • Intermediate computer skills and good record management techniques
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred but not essential
