Assistant Manager - Operations (Portables)

Our Portables business is a National specialised hire business within Hirepool, specialised with products such as Portaloos, industrial use fencing and barriers, road plates, and luxury toilet units. Within our National Portables branch network, this Auckland based branch is our largest Portables Operation, supporting a wide and varied customer base from small building firms through to global infrastructure businesses and everyone in between.

As Assistant Manager - Operations (Portables) your role is to ensure our drivers and our yard service team are working safely, efficiently and effectively to best meet our service delivery commitments to our customers. You'll work closely with our customer service team to help ensure customer contracts are fulfilled as requested and assist in following up on any queries which may arise. Ideally, we're after someone with fleet management experience in the Transport or Waste sector, a high level of customer relationship management skills, and proven people management experience who is keen on contributing to the growth of the Portables division in the Auckland Region.

What you'll do:

  • Successfully oversee the coordination and distribution of work (manage the drivers and yard)
  • Ensure all compliance tasks are maintained as per schedule
  • Manage the maintenance and repair of the Portables hire fleet
  • Lead the team - building on the strong team culture
  • Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for our customers and people
  • Travel to large events and oversee the installation, service, and collection of the equipment

What you need:

  • A Class 2 Driver Licence (Dangerous Goods license an advantage)
  • The ability to organise and delegate
  • Previous supervisory/management experience
  • The ability to communicate well with people at all levels
  • Previous experience managing Heavy Vehicles
