Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Our team in Hastings are looking for a Heavy Diesel Mechanic who is either trade-qualified or has significant relevant experience to work on a variety of hire plants (both Petrol and Diesel).

It's a busy role with a fluctuating schedule of work so no two days are the same - it's a great opportunity to share your expert knowledge as well as develop new skills with our wide range of hire equipment. There's always a lot going on in the branch so you need to be prepared to help out your team with whatever gets the job done.

What you'll do:

  • Repair and maintenance of a wide variety of branch hire equipment, including: earthmoving and construction equipment, and small plant
  • Provide expert advice and assistance to branch colleagues and customers
  • Attend breakdowns as required

What you will need:

  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 4 - Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering) or significant work experience with heavy diesel repairs and maintenance
  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence (other classes and Endorsements are an advantage)
  • Strong product knowledge
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information
