Sales Specialist - Heavy Hire

As a Sales Specialist - Heavy Hire, you will be accountable for maximising the opportunities and growth across our Northern region by working closely with key operations contacts to achieve sales objectives. Covering a region from Silverdale to Pukekohe (and when office-based located at our Manukau branch). You'll need to be commercially savvy, a fast learner who can quickly pick up on the products and services we offer, and a consummate sales professional who's also willing to get their hands dirty.

You'll need proven capability in a Sales, Business Development or Account Management role, ideally operating in a Heavy Machinery-related industry, and we'd especially be keen to hear from you if you also have experience in the hire or construction industry. This is a highly autonomous role that also requires working collaboratively with our branches to ensure our customers receive the right equipment for their project, with the highest level of customer service.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to drive profitability and grow our market share
  • Develop an annual sales plan; identifying all sales targets and structuring sales activity to meet targets
  • Understand your customer's business goals, ensuring we can meet and exceed their expectations; helping to successfully resolve any issues which may arise

What you also need:

  • Proven sales experience which delivers positive business outcomes
  • Proactive approach to developing new business and maintaining existing customer relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
  • Competent use of sales-related customer relationship management tools
  • Happy to pitch in with everything from delivery/pick-up of gear to representing Hirepool at industry, or customer networking events, as required.
